Sioux City has a well-connected transportation network with Interstate 29 providing direct access to the north and south. Other area routes include:

Highway 20 - An east and west route connecting Chicago and Denver.
The Sioux Gateway Airport/Brigadier General Bud Day Field serves the tri-state region of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. Commercial air service is provided by American Airlines with service to Chicago O’Hare and Denver International Airport. Hawthorne Aviation, Sioux City’s FBO, provides extensive services for corporate/private and charter air services.
Sioux City is one of only a handful of cities nationwide who are served by three Class A rail companies: BNSF, UPRR, and Canadian National (CN). In addition, D&I Railroad is a short line railroad that operate under trackage rights agreements with BNSF. The total miles of track operated in Sioux City is 97.23.
Port of Blencoe is the northernmost operational barge terminal on the MIssouri River. The facility is owned and operated by New Cooperative and offers a wide variety of services and warehousing options and has plans underway for a rail connection the Union Pacific rail network. The facility is located adjacent to I-29.
